A Struggle for WIN

By

Hello Friends!!
It was just 30 days for our 12 months of medical to expire, we got a call saying that "WE GOT VISA". There was no time for us to prepare anything for the move. It was even short time to resign our wonderful jobs as software engineers in a reputed company. Luckliy we were holding flight tickets a couple of months back, then, just hoping that some miracle would happen for us to get the visas and these tickets were useful for us in last minute. The day has arrived, when we have to start to TORONTO. My 10 month old son fell sick, his body was boiling with temeperature. Still, we got no choice. No time left to go. Either go today or we may never go as our last day of entry was coming within 10 more days and there were no tickets available for the rest of the days. With big faith and confidence, we packed out things and started from India and arrived in Toronto. By the time we arrived, my son was feeling better. we were releaved. We have our friends in toronto. But those are busy people. So we took a cab and went to their home. Thank GOD for the good food they gave us. Then our brains started to work and discuss about job opportunties here with our friend. While, discussing, there was a phone. Our friend lifted the phone and gave it to my husband. Its for u, he said. My husband was surprized. It was a call from one of the recruiters who has picked up my husands resume from internet. He said he was happy with skillset and he wanted to meet with my husband. And nothing happend after that. There were number of postings for our skill set with the same recruiter, but he will never call again. Even when we call the answer used to be" Please wait for 2 weeks, as we have given your resule to one of our clients". I'd prefer they could rather say, we cannot help you at the moment, so that we would not call them back, untill we revise our skillset. A couple of days later he got a call directly from a company and asked him for schedule for interview. The interview was done and went well. They said that would announce results in 1 weeks time. We did not stop our searching yet. We searched for many more jobs in that weeks time. There were no more company interviews except for going and meeting with the all the recruiters in town. It was day 10, still no job. How long can we stay in a friends house.. so we moved out into an apartment. We were searching for jobs all through day and night almost every where (internet, recruiters, grocery shops, part time jobs etc). When I called up a recruiter and asked for opportunities in word processing, telemarketing or receptionist job she asked me about my experience. The moment I said that I was working as software Engineer for 7 years, she immidetly said " DONT THINK JUST BECOS U WERE IN SOFTWARE U CAN DO ANY JOB. I WANT PEOPLE WITH RELEVANT EXPERIENCE".Nobody was calling us!! Our lives were in dark. My husband started the next day morning and decided that he would go for some manual labor job like weight lifting. He was still searching for someperson who could give us job job. Then after 1.5 months a day came, when we saw a job posting on the internet. We called up the recruiter and asked the details. The recruiter was surprized that we wanted to take up that job as no one wants to because of lower salary. We did not find any problems with the job and also it was fine to start with. A intervew was arranged, and they liked my husband. Soon in 10 days he was in that job in our own field of computer programming happy!! His boss likes him for harwork and dedication and we hope that there would some improvement in future.
Ultimately our suggestions for job search are,

1. we need to have precise biodata
2. It need not have your personal data.
3. 2 pages of CV is more than enough.
4. No one have patience to read pages and pages of your resume.
5. Prepare nicely for the interview and follow interview procedure.
6. Follow up after interview that you liked the office, environment, its so nice to wrok, blah, blah
7. Do hard work and pray GOD
8. Seek patience and support from family members.
8. Even thought you are stressed mentally and physically searching for eat good food and stay healthy, so that can stuggle for your Win
9. Dont waste money in anything untill u get a decent job. This gives confidence.
10. Now both of us are working and happy here
MAY GOD BLESS ALL!!
LOVE ALL SERVE ALL!!
