Hi,
I went thru almost all of the charcha posted here on immigration topic.....I thought I made my mind over immgrating to Canada thru agents....but after going thru all the posts I am little bit confused.
On enquiry I got to know that if I have to go with PR to canada it may take me 2-3 years minimum. But I surly i want to step out of India by one year. I am a postgraduate in electrical engineering from an Indian college and having 2+ years of experience in GE (General Electric ). Do you think I can get a job in Australia without immigration?
I thought I will apply for Canada immigration and then start searching for a job in Austrlia & singapore, thinking I might hit the goal of getting a job with in next one year. And once my visa for PR is done planned to shift to Canada.
Can any one of you tell me if I stand any chance in making my dreams a reality.
And any of the Canada desi bhai/ bahen tell me if You have come across the immigration agent by name RSS (www.rsscanadaimmigration.com). There fees is around 2100 US $ for the PR processing and a help in job search. Is this fees moderate....should I go ahead with it?
Does all the agent take 3-4 years of time to process teh PR?
Please reply back if you any one of you think you can help me clearing my doubts.

Regards,
Jannavi

The agent can do absolutely NOTHING as far as the time taken to process the PR is concerned. That is totally OUT of the agents hands.

What kind of 'job search' has the agent promised? I'm quite skeptical of 'job search' help provided by agents.

If you can be proactive enough to download and gather the necessary paperwork you do not need an agent to apply for PR. Once the application is submitted its out of your/agents hands. So try to think if you really need an agent to do your clerical work for you.

1. weather ( main advantage)
2. immigration timeline is only 1.5 to 2 yrs max on SIR visa it is only 6 months
3.Application is less expensive
4.There is no specified amount mentioned that needs to be shown as settlement funds

Am I right on these info? any opinions...

Anybody who has chosen to immigrate to Canada in the last 3 yrs can you tell me if you considered other countries and then chose Canada and also why?

Anybody chose Canada over Australia do tell me why??

Is it because of:

1. more publicity in the media
2. points system to qualify is difficult for Australian immigration
3.Proximity to US
4.Job opportunities?????
5.more people immigrating to Canada

Any other info anybody would like to share.....

P.S. I did search the site for this and also I wanted new immigrants , fresh from the immigration process to share their opinions.

Check out these links for more info on Australia and to get an idea of what life for Indians is like "down under". The second link has a forum in which you can ask questions and hopefully get more info.

I don't see anything in Jake's mail that was not included in his post on CD (from an information perspective). Personally, I think its bad etiquette to post someone's email reply on a forum without asking them first...I don't know if Jannavi asked Jake or not.

Jake,

Let me know if you'd like the whole post edited to take off that email your wrote...

I havent gone thru the 100% of the posts in the site....
I found it informative & more over Jake had mentioned it in one of his mails that it is better to keep these kind of query and reply in forum.....and since there was nothing personel their I thought I should paste it as an info there.
I am sorry if I have hurt someone in the process.....
