Thanks a lot RC. This is why I love this forum. I must apologize, about the broadband speed/price. Obviously our research was not as comprehensive and I should have asked for suggestions rather than airing assumptions. Sorry to all Kanucs (excuse my spelling).
But do I get to stand by my comments on I-Mode? (and 30Mbps for domestic use??).

See that is where you are wrong. Much of the electricity in Canada is produced from hydro-electric generators, unlike Malaysia. So I would think it is actually "greener" than using Gas.
My comment on the washer-dryer is based on my experience having lived in the UK for a few years. And having used both types. Oh yes, but they do save space! That would be a concern if you lived in the matchboxes they call homes in Europe!

You get a 2 MBPS line for around CAD 41 and 6 MBPS for around CAD 55 in Singapore (from the link provided by you). You will get it at roughly the same price in Canada too. 3MPBS for about and 6 MBPS for about CAD 30+GST from 3Web.
Rogers would cost about 45+GST and 50+GST (including modem rental fee) for 3 and 6 MBPS line.
How do you find it ridiculously expensive compared to Singapore?

You get 60 GB a month for express and 100 GB a month for extreme in Rogers.
AFAIK, unless you are a big bittorrent fan, you are unlikely to go over that limit.
You should look for other ISPs apart from Bell or Rogers if you want unlimited download/upload and would go over 60-100 GB downloading a month. You might save some money too!

You are right there is no such thing as unlimited download bit the limit is high enough and many people get am impression that the download is unlimited.
