Hi all,
I apply for my parents visitor visa as multiple entry, but they were issued only for one year.
My parents came here and back after 3.5 months stay.
Their visa is expiring in July06.
I want to apply for visitor visa as multiple entry for 5-10 years so they can vsist frequently as visitor.
How I can persue it , I mean should I request for extension of the existing visa or let it get expired and apply for fresh .
Please advise,
Thanks ,
Best Regards,
Jr. Desi
they never give long term visas the first time. this time when you apply ask for long term. they will mostt probably give it. also you might want to send them alist of assets that you parents have in India which would be reosons for them to live there, That would be helpful. if they work then a job letter.
best of luck
There you go again. Very sweeping statement. Never is the wrong choice of word. My relative got a multiple entry visa (5 years) on the first application.

Hi,
My parents got a visa for 5 years in the first time.
It all depends on the visa officer. Make sure all the paper work is proper.
Good Luck.
The form for applying for visitor visa for Canada has a question :
" funds available for spending in Canada".........does it mean to show all the liquid funds one has in India or the actual amount one is going to bring to Canada. Any idea approx how much it should be ?
Thx
Quote:It refer to the amount of money you have available for the trip, including all travel, lodging and other expenses.

Hi Derrymalton,
Let it expire, then apply, ensure documentation is complete. It should look a respectable file. Most probably they may get multiple entry for 5 yrs this time. So relax.
Hi Aashu,
To my mind anything from CAD10,000.00 to CAD 20,000 would be a good round figure to enter, if they plan to stay upto 6 months, if that statement can be supported by liquid funds in bank etc.
If not, one may estimate that for a one to two month visit one is likely to spend CAD 5,000.00 to 10,000.00. You may fill that figure. I hope that helps. I would not fill figures like CAD 500
