Hi Friends!
I am a professional stage & night-club singer from Bombay. As you guys know that night-clubs & bars are closing down due to F****ing politics we are facing tough times. One of my friends suggested me to move on to Canada. Since I have been going through yor forums for quite a few days I found that many of the CDs have responded to members queries very well. Thus I just wanted to know if there are any Indian night-clubs pubs or bars or groups that hire singers on regular basis or on contracts or salaried basis? All responses are welcome and appreciated. By the way I am married male of 35 and have 2 kids. I'm sure anyone of you won't pick on my profession.

Hi there Rythms,
I wonder why there are no replies for your query? Well as of me I have not yet landed in Canada so cannot give any advise. If you have any plans for Dubai/Muscat do let me know I know a couple of places where you can make good money if you are a interested.

Lots Of Night Club in CaNADA But I have no idea regarding singer they may play tap .
Don't know about singers but i have seen Musicians Play in the Subway stations for money.

I assume you want to immigrate?
If so, have you started at the beginning and seen if you can make the points rquired for immigration. After that, it will still be another 4-5 years. In that time, how wil you support yourself?
Canadian immigration is not a short term solution, as you might have seen from various postings on this board.

And to answer your question, rhythms... I have not seen any restaurants and/or clubs (no matter how posh), hire singers/musicians on a regular basis or at all. DJ-ing is another thing. How are you with that?
I suppose you could take up a "job" as a singer for private parties and galas (and "mehfils"
that people hold but I cannot say how many do that, or how often. Sorry.

People typically change their profession here in Canada in order to ear a living...sometimes Doctors deliver Pizzas or Engineers run departmental stores...maybe you can change your profession from a singer to an IT consultant. Kya Bolta tu?
