I have seen many postings of Chandresh and find them to be quite responsible, informative and useful for newcomers like me and probably thousands of others who look upon this wonderful website for guidance/ advise/ info.
In case any member had knowingly or unknowingly responded with info that is not factually correct then there is no harm in exposing such persons just to ensure the integrity and usefuleness of this website.
Loose generic comments like know all south indians just shows that some of our desis never seem to outgrow their mentality no matter where they go and how much they age in time.

Sm1 inherits property which was not disclosed while migrating . And he wishes 2 bring the proceeds of sale of such propoerty 2 Canada .
Where does he have 2 pay taxes : in India or in Canada and did he need 2 declare property he "did not " own at time of landing ??

I did a research last year on this topic (in the CCRA website) and found out that the receiving end does not have to pay any taxes (in Canada) on gifts and inheritances from relatives / family members. I dont have the references at moment.

Pardon my anxiety but scenario 2 :
Suppose I have a house in India which I procured for INR 25 lacs (INR 15 lacs on paper ) and after 02 years I sell it off for INR 35 lacs (INR 20 lacs on paper ).
I have 2 get INR 35 lacs out of India .......... How do I manage this and how much am I liable for Capital Gains and to whom ??
Experts , please advise .
