For E-commerce / selling via your website --
You have to talk to your hosting company.
didn't they provided a shopping cart option ? If No, talk to them first
and get it installed and configured properly. then you need to open merchant accounts with Credit companies, like Master Card , Visa and more depending on how many types of cards you would accpet as a payment method. also one more good option is PayPal.
you register a business account with them and create a payment gateway through PayPal.
Hope this info gives you some direction.
Good luck.
why dont you try doing it on ebay to begin with. they have the paypal option where your money is secured. that way u dont spend money. you could get the paintings for personal use , but you will have to pay duty. but once you see the reponse i would suggest you get a proper company going with an import licience. company taxes are much lower and so are the duties. and before you ask me how I know this Chandresh. I am an importer of goods. thats what we dpo as a profession. in nova scotia company taxes are as low as 18%. u need to check what they are in your province. we also pay lower duty than if we brought the products on personal use.
You will need abusiness lawyer to register a company. cost of that is diff in every provice. also keep in mind they expect you to pay the GST before hand and when you collect that from your client you can show the adjustments. your CA will know how to do that.
best of luck with your new venture
