Dear All,
I am a gulfi with life savings of abt a million US and a PR card.
Just wondering what sort of lifestyle will I be able to afford in (say) London or Kitchner i.e one of the smaller University towns? I wouldn't like to work but am open to investing in rental properties or other such opportunities.
All opinions would be received gratefully.
Cheers to all,
New
Will depend on many things like:
1) Can you stay home doing nothing?
2) what is your current lifestyle?
3) How much money would you need every month to maintain that lifestyle?
4) Can your investments provide you that much income?
5) What is the risks with the investments?
Yes you will get one advantage of migrating to canada is that at the age 65 you will get pension provided you have stayed in the country for 10 yrs.

Hi!
She is talking about OAS-Old Age Security.
TK
Sidenote : If that person is a citizen and then resides in the Gulf, Iran, Iraq etc..., then the CIC had no means of finding out how long that person was outside the country. Canada does not stamp the exit date and the gulf country of arrival stamps the date in the Arabic language and the CIC at this point of time can in no way determine the duration of the stay. An Iranian friend of mine, used this to gain valuable time for citizenship whhile he was out of the country (but this was before the PR card was introduced).

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Does anybody know how much old age security benefits other than Canada Pension Plan one gets?
