Fido.
Hey Fido
How are you, same story here too. No updates................
In my case it has been 52 days since Delhi recd PPT. God knows whats the reason behind the delay.
Have ur wife been to canada or other countries before.
In my case Im in India since begining, so it shld not take time for Backgroud checks.
Lets keep hoping
All the Best
My wife had emailed CHC New Delhi and they have replied that due to background checks it may take one month and we need not contact them before that period gets over .
Further they do not need anything further from us . I feel thats a standard reply .... Waiting .
Yes we have lived in another country besides India . But I feel that background checks from other countries should not take long .

Hey Fido
When did ur wife receive this e mail.
Yes it takes extra time for backgroud checks if you have been to other countries too.
But i have through outstayed in India itself, then why this delay????????I dont understand.
They replied my email simply asking to refer to the normal processing time,
Its really very difficult situation

Hi guys!
I am also a CD in Vancouver, going to India to get married, which is on the first week of Feb. I will be really greatful and appreciate your help in few questions that I have in sponsoring my wife:
1. I didn't talk to her on phone, although I have got all her emails saved. We only talked though online voice chat. Is sending phone bills for contact mandatory, or is optional. Can I instead send email printouts with my sponsorship application to show we were in contact before wedding?
2. Does she need to appear for IELTS test, even though I am sponsoring her on a spouse visa? If she does, would it help nevertheless?
3. Since, it's just a second week of January, I haven't even got my T4s for tax. If I want to submit the papers right after wedding, I don't think I will be able to file the taxes right away in Feb, and get my 'Options C Printout' from Revenue Canada. I have all my Paystubs for year 2006 carefully gotten with me. Would that serve the purpose if accompany with the papers?
I would really appreciate from you guys, since you have all experienced the process.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Preet...
Hi Preet
I applied for my wife's sponsorship in April-2006 and everything was finished by July-2006. The below is the list of all the documents I enclosed along with my application. I did not had any problem(s) with my application.
I think its OK if you do not have phone bills but make sure all the e-mails and other proof of contact. Also, make sure you have all the important photos ( showing important parts of ceremony).
