I got all the papers ready and mailed by Nov 15 2006 and by Dec 17th I got the letter from mississauga that the papers were send to India .

During this time when i checked online it was showing that paper processing started by nov 28th

and within 2 weeks , my wife got a mail asking for more wedding photographts and pcc from muscat where she used to live till 17yrs old.. under the application they mentioned only submit if lived before 18th but it seems they need even if its 17....i also submitted 5-6photos of wedding but they need more ...

So by jan 3rd we submitted all the requested papers...and its been 2 weeks still waiting.....

Does anyone know how long will it take them to reopen this file...

i dont think it is a matter of re-opening a file, after the documents are submitted it will take some time.
my application shows 'in process' from jan 4th , it noramlly takes 3-4 weeks before they get back with more info.

guess the name of the game is 'wait n watch'!!!!

Hi Guys,

My wife and kid recently got family class immigration.
Does anyone know that how much amount they have to carry along with them.
I had an impression that for such sponsorship, there is no minimum limit but our travel agent confused us. He said that we need to carry atleast $10000 CAD.
Your suggestions please.

Thanks
Umesh

Today my wife got the letter from delhi asking to send the passport ....

they also mentioned that if you havnt done medical that should be done...but the medical was already done and i have attached the form that they asked to submit ...

also they have mentioned that surname needs to be endorsed on password, which my name is also endorsed on her passport...

i think these 2 are standard letter requirements

So now it may take another 2 more weeks to get back once its send...

Hello Umesh,

Usually when a family is immigrated the primary applicant should show CAD10,000 and for any dependent they should show around CAD2000...this is my understanding...

But since you are here ( i imagine you are the primary applicant) so your wife and kids may need to show 2000 per head...

In my case i came alone and i showed exactly CAD10,000 and the immigration officer was questioning me saying this is too low and i said thats the requirement mentioned so thats why i brought this much....

the lesson learned:

when you carry the required amount ..just add another 1000 or 2000 extra just so that they dont question...

This is news to me even . Since they have already ascertained the Sponsor s financial conditon at time of Sponsorship why should the sponsored person be under any obligation of carrying funds ??
