Thanks for the immediate reply.
My advise is that you do it as eleobrately and as documented as possible. Try to document each e-mail, Phone call record etc..
I donot know any lawyers and may be other CD's can help you.
Write that you know your future wife 2 years or more before your marriage date and create documentation for the same.
Getting married in Court is OK but just try to have some engagement/ reception function.. Otherwise a Visa officer maynot belive you.
Just my view. Note a general statement.

Thanks for your valuable opinion, any other tips on the documentation i should provide is welcome.

Here is what i have

1) Emails from our corrospondance starting Sep 2004 (tons)
2) Phone bills in India
3) Phone Bills in Canada
4) We are having 1 small (20 people) and 1 big (50-100) get together, we will click a lot of pics from there
5) We will also print a engagement card if possible but marriage card will not be possible as we weill get court married and just have a small function.
After she gets her VISA i will go back to india in dec and get religious marriage..

Is there anything else i can provide to make my genuine case feel genuine

Thanks,
Chittesh

I know if you have spouse and kid you need to fill in the financial evaluation form but if it only spouse then there is no financial information form?

Also i plan to go to india, get court marriage only without a function and engagement done and then come back, i hope that will not be a problem?

any comments?
Thanks,
Chittesh

Here is the thing... When you say, doing court marriage in India, you should be knowing that Registering your marriage in court is different thing and court marriage is different thing...

If you are talking about court marriage then you will have to register in court 3 months prior to get married.....(I am not too sure if its 3 months or 1 month.. but you have to register beforehand) So keep in mind... do everything by rule.... Inquire about court marriage....

If you will have proper documents I dont think they will reject any application...

Does anyone know of a good lawyer who i can consult regarding this issue.

We are only having 1 function in India where we are inviting 50-100 people. Will that be enough. I have email transcript starting from Sep 2004 as a proof that we knew each other well before i left for Canada..
I am a little worried now..
Please provide as many inputs as you can..

Thanks,
Chittesh

Hi Guys,

The status on the ECAS was just updated today from Not Available to In Process. The sponsershp of my Wife application has reached New Delhi and they have started processing on 11th May 2006.

How many more weeks it may take to get the VISA ?

I am asking this because i got transferred and have to move to Vancouver possibly in First week of July as i have to Join there on 3rd JULY. My wife cannot land directly in Vancouver since in her application it was mentioned as Toronto so she has to possibly finish landing formalities in Toronto and then move to vancouver. I do not want to Inform CIC since it may further delay the application and also create complexities.

I cannot extend my Joining date since its already extended once considering my situation. I would loke to know what time normally it takes to get a VISA after the processing of the application has started in New Delhi.

It would be really helpfull if someone can guide me what should i do in this situation.

Thanks
spatel

Patel Saab,
Your wife can land anywhere in Canada (Except Quebec) once she gets the spuse visa. So donot worry about it and try to go to Vancouver as needed.
All the best for quick issual of Visa.

Spatel,
If nothing is missing in ur appln. then it shoud not take more than 4-5 months otherwise it may take long. If you havent paid landing fees then it may take more 3-4 weeks.

Chittesh,
Its not about getting married in court or traditionally. all you have to do is give Immi officers more than enough proof that its a genuine marraige. eg

you both know each other from long with proofs
have u ever met her before marriage
how u met her
how much time you spend together before marraige
compatibility between two of you, in terms of qualification/age cuz if there is significant age/qualification difference then you need more evidences to prove that its a genuine marraige
Arrangements you have made in Canada for her living
Honeymoon

all these details with proofs/evidence are mandatory. I would suggest you to take atleast 1 month leave. Its better to do all these stuff now rather than ending up later in visa denial.
Immi officers are very strict nowadays cuz of fake marriages.
