I am new to this forum and so far I have found some great info but I would like to know one more thing. Does the E-CAS updates the file if they send you the passport request letter, i.e what I mean is do you see an E-CAS update about passport request letter being sent???


Please let me know, your information is appreciated. My wife's application was started processing by New Delhi on March 7th and we are still waiting for passport letter.

Please check the e case status web page and it shall show you what does each step mean . As a short reply , no status update is made upon Passport request ~ only when the Visa issued does it say 'decision made'.

Hi Abroh,
During my application process, I have see all kinds of passport requests...by normal mail, by registered post and even by phone (the applicant in that case was residing in Delhi). We received it by normal mail.

Passport stamped was returned by Registered mail.
