No offence to anyone, but this site is accessed by people from different backgrounds and countries. Using only the three colours might be offencive to some.

i think it would be a better idea to use a logo that does not represent only one segment of the members but incorporates a sense of unity just like the word "Desi".

I hope this suggestion leads to a creative action.

agreed with the last 2 posters. Although demographically, desis would mean that the majority are people from India, in the broader sense it means people of south asian decent. I am sure we will keep this in mind while redesigning the logo.

I agree with hestonuk. this site is increasingly accessed by the people of different backgrounds. Most people won't mind the tri-colours on the maple leaf. the key is the usefulness of the contents not the colours or the name. I know a few race-based organisations that have evolved into something more multi-cultural because they were simply the BEST.

If we aim to be the best [if were aren't yet, that is], we should be up there being inclusive and with a broader membership.

Okay then...

A few suggestions:
- add a globe in centre
- keep the leaf above/below the globe
- wrap the words canadian desi.com around the globe
- add some effects...

This way the logo is directed at the International
level (the globe) and also at the Domestic Level (Canada)
and lastly at the Indian Level (Canadian "Desi".

Your thoughts please!

Some i feel the current logo is good enough.. Cap represents the western touch and maple leaf the indianness... It sounds and looks great to me.
