Before 1990s we had the 'good fortune' of viewing only DD English News. The arrival of Star/NDTV was welcomed then. For about 10 years we had only these two. But suddenly we find apart from the above, Headlines Today, CNN-IBN, Times Now and a plethora of regional channels. Many times we feel that we are getting an overdose on crime, violence and terror related news. Also the diction of the DD news readers is better than those of the private channels.
