Hi Transit,
Yes my wife had been to US...she has 5YEARS MULTIPLE ENTRY TO US (visitor visa)....will definitely let u know if i hear something from them.....she came to US in the year 2003.........anyways Transit lemme know if there is anyupdate from ur side....

Hi Kumar,
Thanx for ur reply.My wife has lived in 3 countries(period of time being-7 years in 2 other countries apart frm India=Total 3) and has police clearence attached to her application for all three.We were told by someone that maybe that is why it is taking so long (as maybe they need to verify the docs for all 3 countries). Anyways its all just guess work of people,real reason is obviously unknown.Will let you knw as soon as we hear frm CIC,Delhi.All the best.Thanks!!

Hi Transit,
Just now we got a reply from the canadian officials.The officials mentioned that they are doing some more background checks with the help of outside agencies...they also said that the timetaken to do this is out of there control and they also mentioned that the minimum time taken for such checks would be generally 4 months...thats all for now...jus wanted to let u know abt this so tht it would help u and give you some idea.....

This is news to us!! Thank you for sharing the information.Just one question though when they said it will take minimum 4 months-Do they mean 4 months from the time you sent in the passport for stamping or the time from when CIC,Delhi started processing the application(like in our case it is MAY 2006)?Look fwd to hearing frm you. Will let you knw when we have any new updates.Thanx

I think its from the time we have sent our passprt...well they havent mentioned all those in the letter....i hope i am right.....

Hi Kumar,

Just wanted to share some info with you..We have learnt through some sources that the delay could also be due to the fact that there are only 2 people running the show at the Immigration Dept,CIC,Delhi.So they are very badly short staffed..I guess that explains the delay!!Will keep u posted.Do let us knw if you hear frm them too.Thanks.Tk care.
