Dear CD'S

I got my G1. I am taking driving classes. I do not have any previous driving experience. My instructor is a asian and he is a good person. He says some of of them learn within 10 lessons,but most of them need more than 20 lessons to get G2 licence in the 1st attempt. I am not sure I can learn within 10 classes. In that case I have to invest More than $ 1000.00 for driving . Looking for some guidance.

He is right. People who have never driven cars in their life can expect to pass with 10 hours of driving class whereas people who have driving experience in Asia are more likely to fail if they attempt to take an exam after just 10 classes.
For me (I owned a car in India and have driven in Malaysia and saudi), i passed with around 20 hours of driving classes and at the 3 rd. attempt in Kitchener. GTA has a very high percentage of failure. Scarbourough is the easiest place to pass in the GTA. Try to take the test in Orangeville, Kitchener , Guelph etc...
10 hours of driving classes is $199 to $350 (average).
All Star driving class in Rexdale (Islington road) is the cheapest at $199. Their instructors are the hardest to find appointments at times convenient to you. If you are paying $1000 for a 10 hour driving class, Someone is cheating you. Enquire by phone to various driving providers.
In Canada, Driving is a very Lucrative business and an area for exploitation. In USA, Many of my friends (who have never driven in their lives) had got US licence by practising on rented cars for a few days. As such , if you can get a rent a car (by using your friend's licence) or if some desi friend of yours can lend you his car , you can practice on that.
There is an adult female in my family and she learns driving in my car. I teach her by allowing her to drive whenever we both go out together to the same place. If you live in the Islington-Lakeshore area, I can teach you (for free) for some hours on weekends.

My son just passed his Written test.. i am shopping too..for Drving School.
Meanwhile i am teaching him in parkinglots..
