As a PR, you cannot sponsor dependants while living outside Canada.

I just wanted to post a msg here about my experience.

My 2nd daughter was born in India on Aug 4th 2008. My wife and my 1st daughter including me became PR on March 10th 2008. But when we filed for a temporary resident VISa or visitor VISA for my second daughter, it was refused. Reason being we being PR, my daughter isn't expected to return from Canada which is a clause for the temp resident or visitor VISA to be granted.

So now I'm living in Canada arrivied on Nov 10th 2008 and having to process my 2nd daughter's aponsorship application. But I don't have a job till now. I'm working on a part-time job and am looking for help on filling the forms for sponsorship. I would appreciate any help if we could go through them on the phone.

I am in the same position as the post above. I have recently moved to Canada without my family as my youngest daughter was born in Pakistan. I've just applied for a visit visa for her but I'm being told that it will be refused cuz she is intended immigrant.

If we waited for her PR application to go through, which might take 6 months, my wife and elder daughter won't be able to complete 2 year minimum stay requirement within their PR card validity period of 5 years.

Somehow, this doesn't make sense to me. What can we do about this situation? Will there be a possibility that at the time of renewal of PR card, my wife and elder daughter might be granted some sort of extension to complete the 2 years?

What can be the legal recourse?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Dear All

I went through this forum and find a lot of information about child sponsporing.

I have few queries regarding this matter. I went through CIC web site to find which form I have to fill to sponspor my 6 months old daughter but I could not figure out which fomrs I have to fill in this matter.

Is some one help me in this matter that which Forms I have to fill to Sponspor
my daughter
