Hi CD members,

Thanks for your inputs. $399.99 did not include PSP cost of $99.99. PSP was separate. I spoke with customer service and they are taking up the matter with the store and would call me back. If it does not work out I might go to BBB. I did not pay $99.99 extra just to get $39.99 back.

I will update future progress.

of the extended warranty. But I'll tell you the way a judge would look at this matter. First you paid say $ 400 for the camera and $99 for the warranty.

Now the judge determines the life expectancy of a camera and usually it is 5 - 6 years. Say for your benefit, it is 6 years. The judge will do straightline depriciation on the camera. Therefore the camera depriciates at $ 400 / 6 yrs equals to $66 per year. Your camera is 2 years old and so depriciated $ 133.

If this were all true, you should expect a store credit of ($ 400 - $133) $267. Plus you should get the balance of the warranty - which is unused (2 years).

At their calculations, the life expectancy is only 3 years. which means the warranty is longer than the life expectancy. You can put this argument in the letter of claim to the manager of the store. Give the store manager a week to respond.

Hi CD friends,

I got it exchanged last Sunday. The old one was 6X optical zoom and 3.1 mega pixel. The new one is 6x optical zoom and 6mega pixels.

How did you manage to get it exchanged???

I took back old camera from the store where I gave it for repair and went to the store. They offered to replace it with a camera of comparable features. That's what I wanted from them. Top of this, this Monday I returned it back and exchanged with a Kodak camera of 12x optical zoom with 1GB chip by paying additional $80.00.
