My 2 cents....

Go for the Panasonic 5.8 Ghz. I have one of those. These are the expandable one's with upto 8 additional handsets. Additional handsets cost me around 50 bux at the Electronics Liquidator.

You can transfer the contact list from the base to the each handset.

There must be something terribly wrong in handling the phones - I have had Sanyo and Panasonic, both over10 years with no problems. Had to give them up only when I could not find new batteries for them here in Canada.

You might want to check with the forum what you think might be wrong with your phones.

I have a pair of Uniden 2.4 Ghz. Had them for about 2 years now and no problems to report. Got them free with my air miles points.

aurn,

Have the battries checked out!
All of them work well, before you buy a new phone, look at the price of replacing battries. The trick is in buying replacment batteries for an economical price.

One thing people usually overlook is that if you have other electronics at home with the same frequency it will interfere with your cordless fone and could also damage your cordless fone.

For eg. a 2.4 Ghz cordless fone will interfere with the following:

1. Wireless network operating at 2.4 Ghz
2. Microwave
3. Any other electronics operating at 2.4 Ghz

I damaged by 2.4 Ghz cordless fone 'cause of the microwave.

I was told that earlier - but my experience is that it does not disturb at all. I have got an internet router, a cordless receiver for the router attached to my computer and 5 cordless phones of the same frequency in the house - but I do not find any problem.
