Hi Canadatrust.

If you wish to invest for 6 months that is known as momentum investing and is risky. You could lose money.

If you are looking for 12-15% annual return and pretty secure there are 2nd mortgages.

Mutual funds are known for 7-10 year returns but people do move in and out w/in months as well.

The mutual funds which have returned 50% plus last year are emerging markets, latin american markets, china funds, real estate funds, precious metals which are w/in the mutual fund universe considered high risk. Also perhaps some Canadian small cap funds may have made the grade.Front Street funds also.

All depends on your risk tolerance.

But they say nothing ventured nothing gained.

No risk, no gain.

The majority of mutual funds have no lock in period.

I have an account with e-trade Canada. They are better than TD web broker. TD Web broker is day light robbery. for that matter all the big canadian financial institutions fleece thier customers by charging fees for every little thing.

cheers

BROKER - > I use credentialdirect.com (part of Desjardin).

If you want high returns - why invest in Canada? If you know the Indian markets then you can invest there. There is no restrictions in doing that.

If any body regularly playing TSX stocks and having positive or nagative experience.
Please advise?

What is the objective of your investment?

Index investing is not a get-rich-quick scheme unless you have a *lot* of cash to invest and plan to time the market.

If you are talking about day trading then you need to ask yourself how much money are you willing to lose - you can win some and lose some.

If you wish to invest long-term in the TSX, consider e-Series funds or ETFs.
