I always take my originals. The experience letter should mention the same title under which you are applying TN. If the offer letter says computer systems analyst, I would prefer showing the experience letter with the exact same job title.

Yes. They have never looked at my transcripts though.

3.Can we open company on tn visa, and rate billed to company in order to save taxes

I know someone who has been doing this for so many years. But can't actually say if getting paid by another company while working on some other company's TN is something you would want to do and risk your future travel and stay in the US for a few hundred dollars a month.

No.

A lot of things to be careful about... too much to type. Good luck though.

This is exactly I was talking about in a previous thread about immigrating to USA.

While many of us were talking about better life there, I had mentioned that things are very different now in July 2009 in comparison to July 2008.

The USA we knew in its past glory is very different to todays USA.

Things are tough and hence immigration & work visas are tough.

You could talk to a top Immigration officer but the guys at the immigration counters are the from the lowest end are the minimum wage kind who bring their personal pride and prejudices to the job.

In India you could bribe your way through immigration, while in Canada the system is very different. We welcome immigrants eventhough they will not find suitable jobs.

This is going to be the future of USA.

Love it or Hate it.

Agreed, that the US immigration is not easy. But people just write one sided stories it seems - one should try to find out what the applicant said at the time of applying for his TN or what his category of application (job title) was, before making comments on how bad the officer was or before writing the "stories". Why the person was denied an entry? If the applicant is in software and applies for his TN as a programmer and then tries to convince the officer about his job, I will not be surprised if he gets denied immediately. Or if he expresses his intent to immigrate by saying something about his (future) GC application, the TN will be rejected immediately.

People should try to understand the overall scenario, before posting the juicy stories and criticize american immigration officers.

Now regarding the immigration officers at the counters. If you are not satisfied by their answers, you are allowed to request to speak to the supervisors at the secondary inspection - who have knowledge about the visa rules. They are courteous and explain the reason if your entry is denied.

In addition to what Cdn dude stated, I have seen officers explaining what is inadequate and what could be done to strengthen the TN application. If the applicant can legally strengthen the application, he/she can always come back with the improved application. If they can't improve, then...well...TN will be refused.

I agree with CDN_Dude. He is absolutely right. I have successfully recieve 3 TNs, this does not mean that i won't be rejected next time if my application is not right.

The most important thing is the letter, a lot of us (desis) who have migrated from India and Pakistan who become Citizen try to enter the US mainly through TN. They don't realize that for every Visa you need clear wordings.

If your getting a Visa for management consultant it should clearly state this and not MGMT Consultant or consultant. The Visa officer are not magician they are just trying to do their job

My first experiance nothing asked on Management Consultant Cat
My second experiance the officer asked if i took a voluntary departure in the past and i said yes i did. He had no problem

My third experiance asked me about my voluntary departure and asked me to show the exit stamp which i did. No problem their the entire process took 2-3 hours the interview 10-15 minutes.

Please do yourself a favor if you want to get a TN visa first time try an attorney they do charge you close to 2000$ and i know its a lot but you will be making a lot of money so don't try to jew yourself out of a legit visa.

Degrees are very important in case of management consultant you either need a degree or 5 year experiance right? Nope wrong in most cases that i have seen you will be rejected if you don't have a degree. You don't like it well that's the way it is.

In my opinion i think the visa officer are extremely professional and go above and beyond if they think your legit if they don't think your legit well that's a different story.

Thanks
