I want to invite my parents from India and was wondering how much bank balance need to be shown along with T4/Notice of Assessments/Employment verification letter/pay stubs etc.. Will 10k be sufficient? I am not sure how people do this especially after downpayment for house and such... My folks wont be showing much except property/house.

Don't worry . My parents got multiple entry VISAs for a period of 2 years...recently and will be joining me on June 19th. I was not not too far off 10K. Again, there are no guarantees. Do your due diligence...that's it.
Is bank balance a requirement now? Was not last year.
I've sucessfully invited both my parents and inlaws...and been hosting them almost every year(alternating between them) including this summer.
I have never had to show my bank balance. My Latest paystub, NOA and sin number(i dont think thats necessary either), along with letter from my employer and my personal invitation letter were sufficient to fetch my relatives 3(last year) and 5(cpl of years ago) yr visas. Even before that, they were able to get 6 month and 1 yr visas without me showing my bank balance.
Ofcourse for those self employed, and/or those with limited income it may matter but as long as you can show you have the means to support them, you should be ok.

This is comforting to know. I work for a reputed company and make decent salary. I showed 25k last year for my inlaws which was successful. I just bought a house and needless to say it eats a good chunk out of your savings. Hence the question. Not sure what part this plays. The fact that my employer is well known and pay bracket is good should be sufficient for visa officer to not have any objections.
I dont think you'll have a problem...as sant says...make sure your parents have enough paperwork to demonstrate ties to their motherland.
Unless the rules have changed this year, you dont need to show your bank balance and or investment accounts, assets etc. if you are gainfully employed as you say. A letter of employment from your employer stating your salary and position along with length of employment and the other docs you are providing should be more than sufficient.
