Hi

I visited India with my family in Jan/Feb. It is now over six months and I did not find the Aeroplan miles credited to our accounts. I wrote a letter with a copy of our boarding cards and e-tickets. Again nothing. I spoke to them and they said it shall take another 4 weeks, maybe, before you see the miles in your account.

Is this normal? Is this how Aeroplan works? If so just another 'feather' in the list of 'great' Canadian companies!!!!

something seems to be amiss, it shouldnt take so long. Also to note - Aeroplan recently implemented a new rule where by the airmiles lapse after a period of no activity in 1 year from the date of last travel - it depends on the type of membership.

Ours never took so long. However, this isn't the first time I am hearing about a missed credit. Their customer service sucks big time. Don't spare them. You have to get what is yours. I am assuming you produced your aeroplan membership at the time of booking your tickets yes?

Yes, their customer service is pathetic. My Aeroplan number is clearly mentioned in my e-ticket. So I assumed I would get my credit. But now this is becoming a headache. But I am not gonna let it go.

What else can be amiss.?

To ensure that you get your miles, you are always better off presenting your card at check-in. If you did not produce your card at check-in, you could have filed a missing credit request through your Aeroplan profile online, however, that would have to be done within 6 months from the date that you flew.
