I have received in principle approval and forms from Mississauga for sponsoring my mother. Could some one please inform me their experience of obtaining Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from Mumbai, viz. process, time frame, etc. Also, my Mother was in Tanzania three times (for a little more than six months each time) in the past ten years. Would a PCC be required for that period too? I have no contacts in Tanzania now and was wondering how will I arrange for that. I spoke with Tanzanian Embassy in Ottawa, but they could not provide any assistance in this matter. Could some one please throw some light on these processes. Thanks.

I gladly inform you that my parents received the Visa on last Friday(10/03/08). Thanks for what ever help I received from you guys.

When did your parents receive the passport request from CHC & what date did they send the passport for stamping on? Request you to share your timelines too. Thanks.

PCC from the passport office (at Worli) should take about 2 working days.

Your mother would need to submit the PCC for her stay in Tanzania. Suggest, you speak to the Tanzanian consulate/ embassy in your home country/ Canada. Do check if there is any information on the web on this. Another option to be to post your query on immigration.ca (www.immigration.ca). Good luck.
