I think you can pay the fees anytime while your application is in process. I would suggest you speak with the CIC helpdesk to be sure.

Hi Saathi417,

I called CIC call center and I was told that I can make a payment online. However, I want to reconfirm that I am following the right steps.

I went to cic.gc.ca
Then I chose English
Then I got option of "Pay my application fees"
I chose "Pay fees online"
I hit "Continue"
Agreed to Security Disclaimer
I get two options Citizenship / Immigration
I chose Immigration
Then I got option "Where will you be sending your application?"
I chose "Mississauga, Ontario (Canada) processing centre "
I I confirm the location and hit continue
I chose Right of Permanent Residence Fee C$490/= per person
I hit submit button
Then I got "Summary of Immigration fees "


from this page onwards I am confused because I was not asked my parents application id number online.

Can you tell me where is the gap in my understanding or process knowledge?

Hello ECOM

Once you pay the fees and print the receipt, you have to send it to the CPC. The online system does not ask you the file # of your parents. The matching of the fees paid with your file is done via the receipt that is sent in.

Finally my parents got the visa.

Time line

Applied Aug 2005
Sponsorship approved Nov 2007
Delhi started processing Dec 2007
Additional document requested April 2008
Medical July 2008
PP request End of sep 2008
Visa received Nov 7 -2008
