Timeline for my sponsorship application
-- submitted application on Nov 20, 2006 for my parents
-- received acknowledgment on Dec 9, 2006
-- received letter on May 7, 2009 from CPC-M that my sponsorship has been approved and file has been forwarded to New Delhi visa office
Question: I have not paid the right of permanent residence fee yet.
-- Can I pay it now so as to avoid any delays? I noticed that I can pay it online just like the processing fee but once I pay this fee where do I send the receipt and how do I link to my application?
Thanks for all your help. I used the canadian desi forums exclusively during my wife's sponsorship as well as my parents and suggestions on the forum has been excellent.

Hi,
I have applied the sponsorship application for my parents in July 2008. My parents are planning to come and visit us in fall 2009 on tourist visa.
Does anybody have any idea if they can apply for the tourist visa while the processing of sponsorship application is going on in the back ground?
Will really appreciate your inputs/suggestions/experiences.
Thanks

Thanks Iknownothing, for your information, I will ask them to apply for sure and hopefully they are with us in the fall.
Desi Gal:
I had similar situation.
First thing get your address changes to new address in Canada such as they can get regular communication from Visa office, next communication in most cases is request for medical.
You can get medical done in Canada
If in Canada ( on visitor visa + < than 6 months) and request for passport stamping comes :
Send passport to India office. They would mail you back. Then Call 1-888 -242-2100( CIC website) and set up an appointment with Immigration officer to get LANDING papers. ( If they have US visa, they can cross the border and come back)
One need not go back to his country of origin.
