What are some of the best deals you have found for food in the GTA? Both vegetarian and non?

The focus obviously is not on quality and we're not talking about health food by any stretch of the imagination. Basically it should be a meal that fills you up and does not make you sick, preferably under $5, taxes included (you can go a little higher if this is too less, but nothing over $7).

I (and a lot of my non-Indian friends) find the 3 for $1 samosa deal at Indian grocery stores a blockbuster bargain. (I know a guy who will sometimes eat a $2 lunch :D)

Please list

1) Restaurant name
2) Location
3) Type of food and quantity
4) Cost (include taxes)
5) Eat-in or takeout
6) Your rating from 1 to 10.

This could be useful to newbies and interesting info for the frugally adventurous established immigrants.

China Buffet - 50 Kennedy Road South, Brampton (Browntown)

Great Chinese lunch buffet for 4.99 plus tax- eat all you want-soup, starters veg, non-veg, desert, fruit- not hakka style though- mainland China style.

Moga's Pizza- Malton (Singhdom), Westwood Mall. 2 hefty slices for $2.50 - 2.75 with soda (pop) $3.00 or $3.25. If u want another slice add $1.25 or $1.50 (depending on type of pizza slice).

They have 2 new outlets in Browntown.

Canada's "mascot" Tim Horton's- toasted 6 inch chicken salad sandwich for $2.99

McDonald's 3 diff types of burgers - double cheeseburger, chicken burger, and bacon burger all three for $1.39 each.
Many other good stuff there too- chicken wraps for $1.79.

Actually at many of these fast food places you can find many value deals for $3.99 incl. sandwich, fries and soda (pop).

Will add on as they come to mind.

Ther are several convenience stores that sell Jamaican patties for $1.00

Also Superstore has a variety of stuff for under $5.00. Some good beef and chicken samosas for 99 cents each as well.

Longos has many take-outs for less han five bucks.

Sai Luxme, on Dundas just west of Confederation in Miserysaga and next to P.K. Creek Bar,has some good mutton rolls for 41 each and dal vada 3 for $1 and a killer chicken kuttoo roti for $5. And tell the lady not to spare the chilies. Damn good stuff!Sri Lankan style.

In clowntown Moronto (ah, BL, pure genius)- we have little house of kebobs just north off Yonge/Dundas square on Yonge, where chicken and beef sandwiches Irani style are avlbl for $3.99. Grab one there mosey on down to Yonge/Dundas sq and look upwards at the L'Oreal billboards where Penelope Cruz and Ash and others will look down at you and daydream while you are munching!

Lotsa places there that offer shawarma for less than five bucks.

Also if you feel a little fancy and wish to go up to the Bay on Queen and Bay, up on the top floor there is a cafeteria that offers a good view of Toronto downtown and you can get lunch w/in $7.

Ikea is a good choice for sure. I have been there for their meal specials and it is CHEAP!

Another option if you like Chinese is Dim Sum for lunch. The one I usually go to on Highway 7 and Bayview is called House of Fishermen Delight. $1.60 for one order of Dim Sum. You can stuff yourself at lunch including tip etc.. for not more than $6. Food rating, if you like Dim Sum, I would say at least a 7/10.
