I am planning to bring Tata Sky Receiver with one year subscription (almost all indian tv channels can be seen) from India will that work in CANADA? The same connection works in Middel east so i am wondering if this will work in Canada as well
Interesting ... would love to see what that receiver/technology is that.
Electrically it can be worked - no probme.
I think it should work, as long as you know the size of Dish and direction to point to.

Chances are it will not. The satellite is sitting somewhere over the Indian Ocean. To get the signal, you need a clear line of sight to the satellite, which you probably will not get from NA.
The same channels (Sony, ZEE, B4U etc) that you get in India are re-relayed by the local service providers (ie DishNetwork). So you'd need a receiver that is compatible with the DishNet's technology for it to work in NA...and offcourse a subscription.

it wont wrk.
ull have to get int o FTA (free TO AIR) and make sure u have clear view for southwest when u rent or buy house..cuz u wont get anything if u facing north.

Agree about the North part, but South-East will get you the desi channels. Soif the op is particularly interested in desi channels, a clear view of SE is needed
