I think its about registeration at Police Station or Registration Office after entering India with Valid Visa (not for PIO & OCI Holder).

PIO's have to register if their stay (in a single visit) exceeds 180 days .... But OCI have no such requirement.

Clearly, they do need 'ANY' type of visa, just dont need to register..

I was not commenting on the visa part for kids ...... i was commenting on you statement " registration is not required for PIO's"

From this I got the feeling that you are confused about getting Visa...
Anyways, it does say that children under 16 dont need to register for ANY kind of visa if they are staying for over 180 days...

Thx Hiren. I misread the visa part for children. They need visa but no registration requried.
