I applied Sept 28, 2007 from Toronto. As of Oct 18, 2007, I have not received Acknowledgment letter.

Anyone applied in September 2007 or later, and received first response. If yes, state:

-submission date
-your location (e.g. Montreal, Vancouver)
-Acknowledgment letter received date

Applied on Sept13th.
No luck yet...
I did not do register post and bit worried may be it was lost or some thing..

Hi,

Do not worry. I called CIC and I was told that they are opening mail (applications) approx. 7-8 weekss after receiving them in the mail.

I sent via courier.

Hey Kunato,
I know you said they are taking almost 2 months to open these applications.. wonder why but any word yet?
I am a little concerned because there is no way for me to know if they even received my app!(I did not use any registered/courier service).

Same here Yellow nife,
I am not worried about the citizenship, but worried about my plans of taking a long vaccation after i get my passport (planning to go around the world without the hassle of visa's)

I tried couple of times to call them..but no answer except to "Wait"

As at October 31, CIC was opening applications received in the mail on August 21, 2007. So no worries.
