What will desi lawyer do here?

It is not required the photograph to be stamped locally but this is way they can find that you are away from Canada.

You don't need a lawyer to file citizenship application. You can do it yourself.

I tend to agree with Prince comments. Its better to find a reliable lawyer than just look for a desi lawyer. I have had a very experience with a desi lawyer but i am not mentioning that all desi lawyers are bad. Its better to go by reference from your close friends/relatives who have hired lawyers in the past.

On a humorous not i tend to hate to meet lawyers and doctors office.:p
cheers

As far as my understanding goes:

1. you do not need a lawyer to prepare your citizenship application - unless you obviously know that your status is, or your application is going to be a problem.

2. Yes the photographs have to be stamped by the person and that is why you can not take digital photograph from your camera and print it on your home computer for citizenship application. I think because of this, citizenship photograhps are more expensive than a normal passport photo. I have personally known someone who had to drive into Toronto from Cincinati in US for this purpose!

But then it is my understanding and it could be wrong.

As suggested by other fellow members, you can fill the citizenship application yourself.

However, if you wish to fill the application with professional help, you can visit us at Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre, located in Mississauga, Phone:905-629-1873. We are a non-profit charitable organization and provide Free service for newcomers, including filling of citizenship applications.
