this offer sounds pretty enticing.

Question though, why are you looking outside? Why not hire a local tanzanian?

Big vee,

Thanks for your reply. Answer to your query is " Why USA and other countries are hiring Indian software professionals from India? " They have the upper hand in all aspects.

FYI,

East Africa consists of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ruwanda. Other few countries will join in this league later.

Tanzania is one of the Least Developed Country (LDC). Literacy rate is very poor here. Majority of the business here are owned by Indians so they prefer more Indian to join their working force. Also there are few Tanzanians who can fill their vacancies. Hard work, trust, honesty are few examples why Indians are likely to get the FIRST preference.

Slowly but surely Tanzanian's are getting educated and it will take another decade for the employers to find a suitable Tanzanian.

I am not sure what all aspects means. But I know they are hiring Indians in India because they are cheap. Period. Many companies that do - like mine - understand the many drawbacks of outsourcing. Look into my posts and you will see that we are also hiring local talent too.

I have had the pleasure of studying in India with many many students from Africa. Go to any major college in India and you will see a whole bunch of African students even today. When you say preference to a certain race ( for whatever reason) is racism. Because you are assuming that ALL Africans are not hard working, not trustable, etc. and that all Indians, on the other hand are.

It is attitudes like these that contributed to Indians being forced out of Uganda, marginalized Indians in South Africa and Zimbabwe and being targeted by thugs in other African countries like Zaire and Nigeria.

What you are trying to prove here. There is a simple and clear post, asking if someone is interested in a job in African countries. Your question, why they not hiring local person..., is answered in most suitable way. But you smelling some racial and other issues. My opinion, take it as plain job offer. Discussing more than that or reading between the lines will just be waste of time.

Very nice reply to BV, Ben.
I belive BV is out of touch with the real world.
Even I knew a bunch of Africans/ Palestinians who studied with me at college. Most of them still had arrears even after 8 years of engg. study. Besides those kind of people always go to govt. jobs in their respective countries.
People seek to hire appropriate people to do the necessary work. If we were to take BV's logic, then the White Canadian's would be training Aboriginals to do the work that we immigrants are brought in to do.

Interesting how it is racism when we are subjected to it and not when we are favoured by it. I am not reading between the lines. I was responding directly to what the African Hindustani was saying. I even quoted him. Additionally, I have nothing to prove. I am stating my opinion.

"Those kinds of people"? TK - I do not see what arrears have to do with anything. But if you mean errors - my friend even you have those. And how many years have you been writing English?

First, immigrants are not brought here. They are not slaves. You are an immigrant like me. You applied to come here. And other than the $ 12k you wish to claim from us - nothing is holding you back. Second, aboriginals were mistreated and that is a documented fact. But do not think immigrants are here to replace aboriginals in any way shape or form. I think you need to evaluate your grip on reality.

To Hum Hindustani - I have current experience working with African IT Managers, Clinical Lab Managers, Hospital Administrators and the likes in Zambia, South Africa, Ethopia to name a few. In my dealings with them, I found them to be very professional and had a good command of the technical aspects of their jobs. They are implementing and running the most sophisticated laboratory and hospital information systems; we are not talking PPT, these systems cost an average of $ 500k. and are used by the largest hospitals in North America. My message to you is seek and you will find.

Over and out
BV
