Many thanks to Big Vee / tamilkuravan / benparsad,

I am not from IT field but the employer (friend of mine) told me to look for INDIANS only. Whether its cheap or what, is not my problem. I just wanted to help my Indian brothers.

Big Vee,

I am proud that you are hiring local talents and you know many African students in India. But I am damn sure you haven't met any Tanzanian in that African group. Tanzania is not advance like other African countries viz. in education.

Indians were forced out of Uganda not due to attitude but because of so called African Hitler Idi Amin. In South Africa it was Apartheid due to WHITES.

Today the whole world is afraid of INDIANS no matter which country they come from ONLY because MAXIMUM of them are intellectual, hard working, honest and ahead in SAVING MONEY.

Africans in Canada (or any other advance country) are found to be very professional and had a good command of the technical aspects of their jobs due to the environment of that particular country. Here in Tanzania, the senario is totally different.

I apologise if I have hurt you in any corner.

Very good reply from Benparsad and Tamilkuravan.......

Adding for Big vee knowledge,

Did you know why were WHITES thrown out of ZIMBABWE ??

THEY WANTED THE AGRICULTURAL LAND OF "BLACKS"

If you see the recent senario of whole world, the main PROBLEMATIC people are the GORAS and no one else. THEY want to poke nose in every matter and in every country. Again if there is something WRONG in their country (population wise) so they are calling IMMIGRANTS.

Big vee, wait another 20 / 25 years and you will find maximum Indians everywhere in CANADA also.

We INDIANS just want to work sincerely and with honesty. Just visit USA and you will find INDIANS in every corner of life and business.

Did I mention, recently an INDIAN is appointed new CEO of CITI group? Also check NASAand many Govt organization, you will find INDIAN heads everywhere.

Today, We can compete anybody in the world or anyone from MARS, JUPITER, SATURN or you name it.

Waiting for your reply Big Vee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your reply. Answer to your query is " Why USA and other countries are hiring Indian software professionals from India? " They have the upper hand in all aspects.

FYI,

East Africa consists of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ruwanda. Other few countries will join in this league later.

Tanzania is one of the Least Developed Country (LDC). Literacy rate is very poor here. Majority of the business here are owned by Indians so they prefer more Indian to join their working force. Also there are few Tanzanians who can fill their vacancies. Hard work, trust, honesty are few examples why Indians are likely to get the FIRST preference.

Slowly but surely Tanzanian's are getting educated and it will take another decade for the employers to find a suitable Tanzanian.

Tanzania is a beautiful country and not so beautiful compared to neighboring Kenya and Uganda. It has a great potential to become a leader in the East African region. Its growth rate , I think , highest in the region. It had relatively less corruptive political leader ship than Kenya and Uganda. Kenya and Uganda were ruled once by hard core dictators, but never in Tanzania. Indians in all these countries are equally hated .

You cannot walk on roads in Kenya and Uganda, while in Tanzania it is not that problem.
There are two types of Indians in these counties . Majority Tanzanian Indians, dissidents of those brought by the British for railway laying and expats . They built their Temples and Masjids . Arabs were also hated because of their past slave trading .

Whites are highly respected. Indians are an easy target, and considered the most timid. Sikhs are generally respected, and blacks will think twice before attacking them. They think every Chinese is expert in martial arts and fear to approach him.

Most Companies (owned by the Indians) pay two salaries for the expatriates- one for local maintenance and another for remittance . What ever they remit is not shown by them as your income .so no income tax on it. Tanzanians are discriminated in their own country. They are so good and rarely voice their feelings.
Though Indians are least respected , the relationship between the Governments are very good, unlike India and Pakistan where the relation between the people is good but not the governments.

Many local companies even discriminate Tanzanian Indians and give less important positions to them .

Tanzania was effected by the Cold War ,while its neighbor Kenya during the same time prospered under its dictator with the support of the west.

Though the quality of life as an expatriate is good, I suggest young people think twice before becoming part of the sin of these companies . To me, it is a great destination for Holidays . Serengeti/ Masai Mara, Ngorongoro are wonders .One should watch them before the global warming ripens.
It would be a grate destination if it is an UN /Red cross/ NGO assignment .Let those companies manage their problems and train local talent. I dont beleave in so called unique Indian talent . These companies pay less than $100 dollars for a local university graduate and (CTC)pay $2000 dollars for an Indian expatriate .The reason is known to every body.
As the actor says in Blood Diamonds, God has left Africa long ago.
This is the common man's view ,and not to hurt any one.

Rajju,

I disagree with your view that Indian Expatriates earns USD 2000/- here in Tanzania. Its OK if its IT field or if the post is at top management. Here average saving salary for accountant is USD 600, Sales/ Marketing is USD 1000/-, Store Keeper is USD 500/-. Also like Canada, working in Tanzania is not easy as you feel.

Your quote, ""As the actor says in Blood Diamonds, God has left Africa long ago.""

I thought Gods were born in INDIA and BETHLEHEM, ONLY.

Thanks everybody for your overwhelming response for the 2 vacancies which I posted for Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania.

The outcome of all Resumes will be known to all in their respective emails. The selected will get a contract copy to sign, initially 2 months business visas which will be converted into 2 years work permit and return air ticket.

Hi "need_help"

Your did not send your resume yet.

If you add up the cost of the air ticket + fee for the work permit + bribe to get the work permit +house rent +Medical+ School fee for the children + fuel and car depreciation /Transport, a 200 dollar salary will become 2000 dollars per month per expatriate . That is what I mentioned as CTC (cost to company).

Working in Canada is easy if one is qualified .The taxi driver Sharmaji who brought me home from Pearson Airport first time, advised me to go to school .He was true, I got a respectful job.

Many companies don’t get the work permit for the first three months to try your abilities. If you are not good for them they will send you home. This way they avoid the expenses like work permit, family tickets and you will put in guest house first three months.

There is another possible problem if one joins without work permit. The blacks within the company will intimate the immigration department who will take you to jail, and you will be released after hefty extraction. Business permit will allow you to get into an office- you cannot sit in your chair officially. I know a company who ask their employees without permits to sit in the visitor’s seat and operate.

Almost all companies pay once in three months. Try to ask them to pay once in three months but in advance. This is to avoid the day, after such one three-month, ask you to leave the country without paying you.
