Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
My guess would we would be seeing more of Nano Taxi ( instead of auto) and all the college girls and women would be driving one. It will be a big hit with the ladies.
I sure all fathers want atleast their daughters to drive nano instead of unsafe two wheeler
And many more given away as dowries
Great work from Tata.
Simply... it's gonna be a revolution. Forget about motorcycles, here cometh the 'Nano'. Simply amazing!!!
Amusingly, the West (US) doesn't look so enthusiastic about this revolution. They are feeling a lit bit way down as it's coming from India. They are already tearing it apart by the statements such as - can fit 5 people, unless don't breathe, emission norms etc.
Well, I like it...
Last time I visited India - in 2006 - the same route which I used to travel in 20 minutes or so in 2001 used to take me 1.5 hrs or so. With all the nano's and life's (bajaj) flooding the cities, it's going to be interesting how it will be during my next visit!
And ofcourse the parking is another nightmare.
I sincerly hope efforts are on to improve infrastructure so that 'people' can really make use of the 'people's car'.
Here's a wonderful and well thought out article on Nano by Barkha Dutt:

All well said - undoubtedly.
Hats off to Tata team
Reporters made similar comments about the Volkswagon when it came to America from Germany. It ended up becoming a cultural icon. Personally I am impressed with Ratan Tata's invention.
In 1990s, a book called "The machine that changed the World" discussed how the lean production techniques of Japanese revolutionised the global automobile industry. Perhaps Nano is destined to take the fascinating evolution of the most loved machine in the world one big step forward. Bravo, Ratan Tata, except for the emission norms. Indian Government needs to give this issue a serious thought.
