Hi Folks,

I was wondering if any desis here have good exprience with Online Brokerage like eTrade, Tradefreedom etc. Could you please share your experiences? I am basically looking to get into online trading but not very sure which online brokerage is good and why and why not?

I have experience with Interactive Brokers and they are really great. Try them

I use Questrade and have been pretty happy. Charges at least 4.95 and at most 9.95 for trades. Let me know if you need a referral. Gives you $50 worth free trades and $100 trades for me

Depends on how many trades you will be doing in a month. Interactive Brokers are good but charge a fee if no transactions or less transactions.

With that price, I would tend to think Questrade is the best priced out there. Can you let me know about your experince with the website and customer support/ service? Also, are there any hidden costs or charges and any recurring or annual fees? Can you buy and sell mutual funds online (if yes, any fees outside of what the MF themselves charge)? Thank-you for your post.

As far as I know, there are no inactivity/other fees. I am not sure about MFs. I usually buy Exchange traded funds with this account, thus bypassing the high MERs and the high fees to trade MFs.
