Hello,

Am originally from Sangli, more specific Digraj......Completed my BE(Mech) from Islampur, RajaramNagar.... Presently Working in Sharjah, U.A.E......Will be landing in Edmonton at the end of Oct. this year with family.....

Would you please detail me @ conditions/problems I may face after landing at the end of oct.2008. That certainly will help me to prepare my mindset...... I feel ok to come over in oct. but am worried only @ Partha, my son(5 yrs), whether he will accept the sudden climatic changes or not.....? Purely @ climatic condition, the rest schooling won't be a problem.....Air ticket will be cheaper during that time.......housing will be easier...and most +ve points are I will get more time to prepare moving out plan....

Please let me know @ ur opinion, hoping to c ur reply soon....(santy4@hotmail.com)

Kindest regards,

Hello

How are you? Wel I am retired Sanglikar, live in subarb of Toronto called Mississauga, I was born in Sangli
I spent all my childhood in Vakharbhag [Now it is called Mahaveer Nagar] .Any way after graduation from Walchand College of Engg. and few years in Coopers engg I left India in 1965 for further study in Germany and landed in Canada in 1967. So compare to you I am much older. Edomnton is in province of Alberta. It is booming town in Oil and Gas exploration and great economically expanding very fast. Job wise you should not have any problems except initial problem of Canadian experience, Offcourse if you are familiar and match with Canadian work system it might be easier. The major problems in Edmonton is to find suitable living accomodation, unless you have managed to establish by email thru some friendly contacts. Since you are coming in October it would be beginning of fall season and to get prepare for very cold winters but you are young you can always manage it. Any way for your son there is no problem at all. There are special J. kinder garten schools take care of them very well. But I like to make some suggestion if I may. Initially to adjust whole family to the new enviornment it is bit stressfull.

If you need any more information, feel free to write to me.

Wishing you the best of settling in Alberta.
With best regards
Sanglikar

Firstly, should say thanks to Sanglikar and Ek.... Appreciated for saying informative words to me....

Laetst update with my Mgt., will reach to Edmonton in mid of Sept. this year...As I hv done my Migration through an agency, they will be arranging accomodation at the time of landing. So no worries at that time....but is it difficult to get apartment even after landing?

My mind is flodded withe the qts. and I guess most of them will be clarified after landing.....!!

Will certainly write to u just before my travel as well as after landing with my contact details. Any chance of someone from Edmonton, givng idea @ areas to be chosen for apartment as a family? I hv few opinions of Desi's but also would like to know from u guys....!

My E mail is santy4(about)hotmail(dot)(com)

Kindest regards,
