I havent tried them, but from thier website, it seems there is a connection fee per call of C$ 0.04 in addition to 3 cent/minute. Still they are cheaper than the rest. Need to research more.

Under FAQ it says that cost of call to mobile is more than landline in India - but thier rate chart mentions its the same.

Any other CDs with more info?

Hiren

Just going by their website http://uniontelecomcanada.com/tarifas.php Connection fee is 39.9 cents and not 4 cents and they have 3 minute rounding.

If you are going to make really long phone calls to India, then Telehop has a service for which you can talk unlimited for $2 per call (you can use some other service to check if the person is available to talk).

I read some people want to know about Union Telecom. This compny is a disaster. They will take money from you they will do wrong billing & will charge you hundereds of dollars. They will return your security deposit. They are cheat # 1. Pl. go in google & log in for Union telecom & read under complaints. There are two pags full of complaints.

Agree with you. I also had a very bad experience with them. They have a connection fee of about 40 cents(rounded number) per call. So if you spoke to India for 2 minutes you would be paying something close to 50 cents. I was shocked to see my first bill from them and then I stopped using it. The salesman who sold it to me did not tell me about the connection fee. He said that there will be a 40 cent charge only for the very first time you call India. For the subsequent calls there would be no such charge. I am very upset for beig cheated. Also remember all the charges are in USD.

I also use G3 telecom when calling from work. So far so good. Only problem is when calling BSNL number. Most of the times it wont work. I think its the BSNL problem. We have Airtel (both landline and mobile) that works out just fine with G3.
