Hi
As the price is going down - apjm.com shows spot price as 816$ for 1oz coin - I want to buy a coin/bar.
Where to buy in Canada? In US, we have sites like apjm.com and kitco.com but here, I cannot find any.
RBC says I need to have an account to buy coins, which is not possible.
Does anyone knows any sites/shops where I can buy them?
Thanks
With the Gold rate down thses days...I guess there couldn't be a better time to buy something or just invest into bar or coins.
We are also looking for some place to buy bars/coins but don't know where to go.
Gold is moving in a downward trend. It is dropping down towards 775-778 mark and it will try and consolidate at that level for a while. Take advantage of the lower markets at that time. Watch out for the Labour day week end time frame.
When you buy Gold briquettes or the biscuit, or in wafer forms, there is NO sales tax or any other tax associated with it to purchase. And if you don't need receipts for the same, then contact any desi gold merchants or jewelers in town and keep in touch with them and ask for quotes on a daily basis. They always charge a small handling fee or you can call it a premium.
Coins always cost a little more and there are taxes associated with them. If you are a collector of coins then there are Numismatic Society or the clubs, and they are the best to watch.
Here is a small article to read : http://www.goldline.com/d/index.php?page=206&OVRAW=gold%20in%20biscuits&OVKEY=where%20to%20buy%20gold%20biscuit%20in&OVMTC=advanced&OVADID=24201277511&OVKWID=173283670011

Lots of reading for the Canadians: http://www.nunetcan.net/cpms.htm
Good decision for the long term BUY and holders.

You can get it shipped from Kitco to Canada. Refer to https://online.kitco.com/sellprice/Policies.htm
You can also buy gold at Questrade.com but I have no idea about their shipping charges.
Scotiabank also deals with gold.

I would suggest buy from Scotia Bank.
You do not need the physical gold , I think.
You can buy a certificate. Check the scotiabank website for details or call your nearest branch.
Rajiv
they charge 15 to 20$ more for Bar making charges for 1 0z
I just spoke to scotiabank rep.
She said they charge $7USD for a 1oz gold bar. She said the spot price at 3:20pm EST was 831 USD.
So it comes to 838USD... She said it becomes 907CAD.
kitco charges 34$ for shipping and insurance so it comes to 865 USD if I buy from kitco.
I guess it is better to buy from scotia
