My daughter who is just finishing her BSc in General Science at UBC would like to proceed to Caribbean for medical education. I am not very sure if she is doing the right thing I was suggesting to her to go to Manipal, India.
Kindly if somebody can advice us of the correct step to take....it is really difficult to get into a Canadian medical university as her grade is around 60's good enough for manipal or caribbean but not good enough for N. America.

Contact the BC medical association to determine if that education would be recognized here. She may end up competinig for one of BC's TWO residency spots with all other foreign educated doctors. She will be fine if she wants to practice south of the border though.

Tourist, I live in South America and a lady from Canada studied medical in St. Martin (a Caribbean island), I'm not sure of which college but later we heard that she went to New York for her internship, I'm not aware of the full details (the family has moved out from our country) but I think her college in St. martin was affiliated to a US (New York) university. Caribbean will be a better choice for your daughter...check St. Martin the place is safe too compared to Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago or other islands full of crime.
Hope this helps......................Jona
Thanks jonav...mr
I have checked the website for st martin it looks very good. The fees are a bit high.
Manipal fees are ok and it is 2 years at manipal and 2 years at new york.
My daughter has liked the st. martin now I have to think of finances.

The college being discussed here is affiliated to a US university and 2 years of education is in Caribbean and the 2 year internship in New York. The family I mention here was from Vancouver and the lady attending the college told me most of the kids in there college were from US or Canada.
