Hi there !
:)

I went through different forums in the website, but I didn't find a single topic about some "Montrealers" ...

Anyone from the French City ?
Please share your experience here ...

My timeline :

applied : November 1st, 2007
File transferred to CIC Montreal : April, 19th , 2008 ...

Since then, NOTHING ! ...

Some weeks ago, I call the CIC , and the agent told me, my file is among the easiest , but ... given the time in Montreal CIC, I just have to WAIT for the letter of invitation to the test .

And this situation is , NORMAL in Montreal (comparing to other areas where the whole process takes 7 to 12 months) ... Here the average time waiting for the citizenship can rise 16 to 18 months !

It will take exactly one year for Montreal Office to get in touch with you for the test

Now a days they dont do the oath on the same day unless your extermly lucky ..

It will take another 2 months for the oath after the test ....

hope all goes well for you .. till then Wait and All the Best

Montreallers

Thanks, Neonzx3 for your reply ...

I do not despair finding others Montreallers in my situation ... for us to share experience and therefore, for the very looooong waiting to be more bearable .
I know I have not seen the end of the tunnel yet ... But as you said ... Patience ... Patience ...:)

I also wish you all the best ...

Last month I went to see lawyer for my friends immigration case in downtown Montreal.

We have some discussion with lawyer about how the process works here.
He said Montreal CIC officers are slower then other provinces . ( this is lawyers opinion , not mine)

Also, they have order by upper hand to take first priority for criminal background applicants then go with regular applicants.

So I m assuming there might be longer delayed then usual time on regular files.
I m sure this may help you
