FEW BAD APPLES SPOIL(S) THE WHOLE BASKET.
I heard rumors from the press, that they were scrutinizing all of the recent marriages that took place in India as some or all of the pictures provided by the couples were suspect. But your case may not be one of them.
If they call your spouse for an interview, please have all of the invitations, list of invitees, guests and signed guest books and any memorabilia, list of gifts received etc., associated with the wedding, including a video, photo albums, should be sent or made available to them, if you have not done that already. And of course the Marriage Certificate too.
So, please bear with the delays currently experienced by one and all from that end.
Freddie.

Thanks Freddie for your reply.
However our marriage took place in Canada in front of Marriage Commisioner (white lady). Our marriage happened relatively quick. As my spouse was supposed to leave canada by next month so we decided that we will perform our legal ceremony in Canada(my parents were part of this legal ceremony becuase they stay with me) however I visited India and there we performed our traditional wedding ceremony(along with my spouse`s family) with our family members. And we did communicate these details with CIC to avoid confusion.
So do you think it could be matter of suspect for CIC as we did get married in just before my spouse left Canada.
Thanks for your valuable inputs.
Thanks - Santosh
Dont be panic
It is true that CIC is more stick towards some countries ( specially Inida) because of fraudulent marriages.
As per your details you don’t need to worry about the link “ftfi” forwarded you.
They didn’t put your file in “ Investigation” so seems like u r not one of those cases where they doubt marriage based on ongoing investigation for “ suspect for misrepresentation under sec 38 of IRPA- i.e you had entered Canada by using your exwife.”
So for now relax it will be just routine check up , they will just verify few documents and hopefully everything goes smooth.
AT the moment chill – relax u will have positive result soon just need to stay calm and wait cause this days delayed on file is normal due to backlog.
However, If you receive letter regarding “investigation” on your file then u should start looking into preparing your case strong by visiting your spouse again and have some more proof.
Thanks Meetonline.
Well I think I have no other option other than wait. So do u think after the timelines which is max of 6months duration I can contact CHC to get the status on my application as they don`t respond to your quries until usual timlines are over.
Also please advise how useful the caipsnotes are?
Did anyone used it? Please help.
Yes, you have to choice at the moment but to wait.
YES, no harm calling CIC at any time – firm but respectful and try to get as much as info from them, you might get real reason of delay. However, most of the time they don’t tell you much, basically you can find same info on their website.
About “caipsnotes”: http://caipsnotes.com/About.shtml
However, I haven’t used this service so I don’t know much but once my lawyer advice me that capinotes is not what we think. They don’t give you full details. For such a example: if file is on investigation they will not tell you what kind of investigation instead they just put investigation going on in certain area.
Again, it’s not expensive to order (I think 5 $ then charge on each copy) so why not order it.
If I am at your place without wasting my time I would consult a good lawyer, chances are you will not need and u will waste money but then again sponsorship shouldn’t be take it easy. If you get lucky and find a good lawyer then let them take care of capinotes and MP letters or sometime they have direct contact in CIC so they can call directly to find out your status.
This is my opinion, I m not an expert so its all up to you to decide. I would put step which I should follow at your stage.
1st – call CIC every month.
2nd – be prepare for interview
3rd – consult a good lawyer (ask them about their history, their specialty – if they have had similar issues – read about them on web – MOST IMPORTANT: STAY AWAY FROM ANY DESI’S
Hi CD`s,
Actually my spouse had some mail from CHC which she missed and we came to know after a week tht there was a mail sent to us. We have given my spouse`s friend mailing address as she is staying in a hostel so she thought if she gives her friends address somebody will be there to receive communication all the time. Now today my spouse has got a call from her fren that during Diwali time all his family were away for 2days and somebody that time (not sure whether its a courier or registered post) came and seen no one at home and asked neighbour and tht lady said no one stays in tht house by my spouse`s name.
So I am thinking they must have returned that document back to CHC stating that she doesn`t stay in tht address.
And all these days we were desperately waiting for some communication from CHC.
Now my question is whats the best option to do to communicate to CHC that we missed the mail from them. Any idea whether they use registered post or courier.
As I am expecting that letter might contain either asking my spouse to come for an interview(if its an interview does this thing gets updated on ECAS) or requesting her to send her PP.
Do you guys think that CHC will resend the mail again immediately when they see a mail from us or again its gonna be a waiting game.
Please help. We are so desperate to know what that mail contains.
Thanks in advance for all the help and support provided to me.
