I don not know where you are located. Since you are in Ontario, please look for the Technical Colleges associated with the Power Engineering. This list is Comprehensive and will help you where ever you are. You go and meet with the Proper People there, close to where ever you are. In Ontario you should meet with some one near by where you LIVE, as you will find that there are a few and attend a few classes. ( if you want to. )
There they will provide you with the qualifying requirements for the 4th Class Certificate. See if you qualify for a higher certificate too!! AIM HIGH !! While you are there you can buy the books associated with the test and the sample question papers and any updates that are available from the Teachers. Ask for them before you leave.
If you have the required time, which I am sure you do, get the exam dates from the College. Get the time and locations where it is held. Pay the fees while you are there. You will get through your exam and will walk away with the 4th Class Papers with in a month. Cost under $50.00
They also run a course which will help you immensely, it is a night course too. Find out more from them.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
