Just curious

- How much electricity (compressor consumption) is required to fill one car? What will be the source of this electricity?

- What are the safety features in this car? Driving a car pressured at >4000 psi is like driving a bomb

We have heard many things like this since 70s, but nothing happened and still we are depending on petrol only.
Can we see some thing as mentioned by OP within our lifetime?

God only knows!

All thanks to the big Auto companies and the Governments in power. Also, because the oil/auto companies' way too strong lobbying as well. Who can deny that Govt. is receiving free money as oil revenues/taxes? It's all a systematic conspiracy to devoid us people QUALITY alternatives to the gas-driven-automobiles. Ever heard the reason why the public transport sector, though being talked about everywhere these days, gets so little money in year-over-year budgets? In US talking about public transport is akin to raise eyebrows and there are hundreds of towns/cities that do not have a public transport at all - leave aside an adenquete one. So, you can easily judge about the extent of lobbying here.

Check out the fate of three big automakers in US. GM, Chrysler, and Ford are all going down the drain. They are on a verge of bankruptcy to say the least. But, thankfully consumers are now becoming more aware of these hidden agendas/conspiracies of oil companies/auto makers.
