Does anyone know a good store in the Markham area to by a new washer - other than the regular ones like The Brick / Leons.

There are a few of them that are worth visiting before you decide upon a Machine. There are reports provided by the Consumer Reports :

It is worth reading and finding out the best in the market and the features associated with them. You don't have to buy the magazine. Hence look for it in the libraries and print it if you want a page or two.

http://www.sears.ca/gp/home.html GOTO: Appliances and the left hand side go to Washers.
May Tag Front load is around $899 and Kenmore is around $749.

LOWE'S : http://www.lowes.ca/products/appliance_clearance.aspx

Badboy's : http://www.nooobody.com/

It is nice to know more about the clearance items and you can only find it out if you visit them.

Hope this helps you a little.

Freddie.

I got my new home closing in next 6 months as Christmas & Boxing Day are coming sooner. I looking into possible suggestion of places to shop around for 5 essentials for a House (Fridge, Stove, Washing Machine, Dryer, Dishwasher)and also Range hood. Someone told me its always best to buy one brand appliance and also shop from 1 place to get more discount like from Manufactures Side & Retailers side. I don't have personal experience wrt to which company make appliances are better since this is my first new home. From your experience which brand appliances are best for above 5 and what places to shop around. A few places i know are Brick/ Leons, Sears, Appliance Canada, Best buy, future shop etc. I live in GTA. I am looking for something pretty decent in terms of price not super expensive but not cheap also. Also i read somehwhere that one should always look for Energy Star Certified Appliance the initial cost of these appliance is a bit high but government does not charge PST on these appliances and it uses less energy specially (for Dishwasher, fridge, Dryer & Washing machine)

Thanks for your inputs.
