Can anyone please share some experience or views on what to expect during citizenship interview with judge?
My interview is at the Mississauga office later this month.
Also, is there a way to know why the case has gone to interview?
Are there CAIPS notes for citizenship that can show the cause of interview?
I suspect it may be because I might have failed the test.
If so, what kind of questions will they ask?
Is it usually straightforward or more like an interrogation session?
I know few cases where they were called for an interview by judge at Mississauga. Dont think that you failed the test. There can be two reasons
(1) if you have failed the test, then they would ask few questions to you to know your English level and if Judge convinced that you can understand an average English than dont worry.
(2)Another reason is if you had a frequent travel in your passport or frequent US visits than also they call for an interview, but if you have finished your residency criteria then go with all the proofs of residency claims like Bank statements, doctors visits(get from family doctor), Credit card bills, tenant agreement, all years' T4 slips, IT return papers(from CCRA), job letters (can get ROE s from previous employers) etc. Make a file and try to collect everything which can prove your affiliation with Canada and be prepare to represent yourself to prove your residency with backups. Recently I heard of few cases where judge called for an interview to prove residency in Canada.

You are OK if you have not left the country frequently.
My interview is tomorrow and i'm still very jittery.
What kind of questions does the judge usually ask?
Also how long is a typical interview?
is it a fairly quick 5 to 10 min thing or do they do interview for half an hr or more like immigration interviews?
do they ask questions from the book like dates, terms, etc. or is it more of a chit-chat to see if the person understands English and knows about local govt etc?
It is to my understanding that you get an interview with judge if you fail the test....I would say prepare even better than you did for the test as there you had multiple choice, whereas this will be more of an oral test.
