hi folks,
My sister back in India is planing to apply for immigration-under skilled labor category. I am in Canada.
If i live in Quebec (Montreal to be specific), my sister mentions in her application that her destination immigration location would be Monteal but she does not speak French at all (zero knowledge of french). Will that play any kind of role in the decision making process? She has more that 67 points(0 french), but being in India there is high probability that she would have to go face an interview.
I wanted to know what destination location she should mention(since she does not speak french at all) Montreal or Toronto?
Any of you in Quebec, immigrated from India without french knowledge!!! care to share your experience - thanks in advance.
If she does not know French, she should not mention as Montreal or any place in Quebec, rather she should mention Toronto or Mississauga as her designation. She would still get the bouns point. Once she lands in Toronto then she can move any where in Canada. She has much better chances of getting immigration if she mentions Toronto or any other place in Canada but Quebec (the whole province)
The immigration process for Quebec is different and is solely handled by Quebec Provincial Government. (At least this was the case earlier)
Hence, she can not mention Montreal or Quebec as destination if she is applying for Canadian Immigration (in CHC) because if she mentions Quebec or Montreal, then her application would not be processed Federally but would be processed by the Quebec Immigrations, who I believe would not accept her if she does not know Frenceh.
Any ways, you should confirm this here before she applies and our Immigration Expert would give you correct answer.
