nice to see you back Maharaj!

I always compare Toronto and Montreal like I compare Delhi and Mumbai.
Montreal and Mumbai have Character!

It was good to be back with topic on Mumbai. Bit busy in new job.

So what do you mean, Toronto doesn't have a character? Yeah Mumbai & Montreal both start with same Character !!! Montreal Downtown Structures looked quite close to Mumbai. People also, I think are warm hearted.

But there is nothing like Mumbai. Live there for 5 years ... and Grab Life time Experience.

Having lived more than 2 yrs in both the major difference (and this is from the heart not from the mind :)
TO is is large North American city(Not much character to the city), box store kind of city...more conservative...a bit cold(people), most are part of the rat race.
Montreal, more inclusive...warmer people, a little bit of Europe and more laidback compared to TO.

actually you dont need to. Most montrealers are bilingual. Even though the wife and I know a bit of french(the wife more than I)....I have never used it for bus tickets or groceries even once in 5 yrs(its the truth). I've got a few friends who have brought houses here and still dont speak any french :p

I just want to add that I made the above comments about characterless TO in a light vein(though i personally believe it :D ).

A single vada paav and a cutting chai is the survival package of most of the Mumbaikars.

Apparently the yrs spent in Canada weakened my stomachs ability to handle what was part of, almost daily diet in college...this I found out during my last visit 2 yrs ago:(

Montreal has more character than Toronto, just like Paris has more character than New York.

In the end though, its all an excess of pretentious francois yapping over a fancy cup of banana flavored coffee. When it comes to doing ACTUAL work, its Toronto all the way.

Toronto's a lot more like Bombay than Montreal ever could be. The fast paced life in both the cities (TOR and BOM) isn't for everyone. :icecream:

Are you there?
