Citizenship card after oath?

Do they give out the citizenship card right after the oath on the same day?
I ask because I want to apply for ppt on the same day as well.

I know from previous posts that you are waiting for a hearing with the judge...Did you get a hearing date yet?

I applied to Toronto office in August 2007, had test in November 2007, as I was shot of 1095 days, I was given an RQ during test...I submitted it in December 2007....since then, no news...

Just FYI. Citizenship card is officially known as Citizenship certificate and is handed over to you on the Oath day. But make sure to apply for the passport when you receive your Citizenship as this card is not a travel document. You can't cross over to US without Passport from June 1st, 2009. Mere Citizenship card/certificate won't help at all.

I tried to post a reply on the topic you started about the citizenship card, it looks like for some reason my message doesn't show up on the forum(my user name is housing(!!)

I know from previous posts that you were short of 1095 days and that you are wainting to see the judge...Did CIC give you a hearing date yet? If yes, when is it?

I am in a similar situation, I applied in August 2007, got test and RQ in late November 2007, submitted RQ in december 2007....since then, no news...

Your last post gave me the impression that you got a hearing date and getting ready to apply for a passport...is that right???

The citizenship card and the certificate are different.
The Card is a wallet sized laminated card.
The certificate is a long form, A4 size paper.
Only the card is valid for applying for a passport.

Yes, I got my hearing in March and earlier this month took the citizenship oath.
I don't know they asked me for hearing. I was not short of the number of days.
in fact, I applied after completing 5 full years of stay.

My timeline is - applied May 2007, test - Sep 2007, hearing March 2009, Oath - April 2009.
