My friend is here visting me for 10 days. He does not have a US visa but has a multiple entry Canadian VISA on an indian passport.
Is there any way we can visit buffalo and return back the same day or get something for a 2 day visit to new york

Indian Passport, No US visa..No stepping on to US soil. Period. Common Knowledge.
He can apply for US visa assuming he can get an appointment within the 10 days.

If he landed within the last 10 days here, he is going to have a tough time convincing the US consulate why he din't apply for Visa in India and what urgent issue came up now to seek visa from Canada.
If it is not anything urgent, I would rather save the $$ and time applying for visa now.
I agree - chances of getting US visa are slim to none in this case.
Still the option is there to apply, if you can find an open appointment slot.

I thought for getting an interview slot you have to be a permanent resident and have a mailing address.I cannot get an interview lot in Montreal or any other jurisdicion
Lot of people come to Canada to get stamp H1 visa from US. They take Canadian visitor visa and interview slot at US Consulate.
