Hi, All Desi guys, Very very nice to have this platform as if we are one family.
Guys let me know your opinoin on my case, it is
I am 47 years old with wife 45 years daughters doing 12th standard and other doing her std. ninth.
I am working as the Maintenance Manager for a multinational company in Pune - Maharashtra - India drawing salary Rs. 45,000/- p.m. My wife works for big chemical company drawing Rs. 15,000/- p.m. Our kids are doing very fine in their studies. We own two flats in a prestigeous locality in Pune, we own a car.
We have applied for immegration to Canada for fulfilling the dream of having adondant in all respect, a better future for my daughters and ourself
Can the senior desis please give thier opinion wheather my dreams can be fulfilled or should I stay back here.
If asked yes or no, I would say do not come to Canada.
You are already doing good and in most cases things DO NOT become better than what already you have in your home country.
It is too much of a struggle here and for someone aged 47, I would not recommend it at all. New job search at 47 years of age, starting life from scratch again, Canadian experience, upgrading skills, doing labour jobsto earn a living.........

Canada...another name for struggle in life!
Hi
A decision not to come to Canada at this point of your life would be the best decision that you ever took in your life...

I agree with the above two opinions. At this age and considering how comfortable you are in India, its too big a risk.
There are a lot of people in their late 20s and early 30s struggling with back-breaking labor jobs. I don't think you're willing to leave your great job in India and chance that, are you?
You could always send your daughters here for further studies. And after they settle down, they could sponsor you.

Are you there?
I would agree with the posts above. If you explore the reasons to come here, they are (i'm making assumptions on your behalf, please correct me if I am wrong)
1) Career: At 47 you have probably reached or are going to be reaching the pinnacle of your career in India. If you come here you MOST probably have to start from scratch. Also you may also have to settle for entry-level/labor jobs. To dig yourself out of that would be a challenge at the age of 47
2) Money: Again you have probably already made more money than you will make here. You will actually end up reducing a lot of the assets you have accumulated so far, if you come here.
3) Children: If your kids are into fields like sports, arts, environmental studies etc...they would benefit the most. You have to weigh the above 2 points with this point to see how you really feel.
On the other hand, who knows if you will get a 85k job within a month of landing or win millions in 6/49? Maybe you have enough funds to invest here and retire too.
I have not seen anyone who came here at age 47 and are doing well with point 1 and 2 above. I do know of people who have(at 47 and above) compromised and thus find the move to be worth it and love being in Canada as much as I do.

I would strongly recommend that you should not - for all points made by my colleagues here and lastly, your daughter would be going to university in a years time - here in Canada, which is frighteningly expensive unless you have planned.
Try you may - if you are still optimistic - there is a need for Milwrights here in the maintenance department - but that too needs certification and the pulls, travails & struggles.
This is what I feel and I leave it to you to decide. Afterall - you are the master and commander of your own ship...
Take care. and best of all luck in all your future endeavors.
